TiviMate Ireland IPTV: Setup, Best Settings and Pro Tips

TiviMate is one of the most loved IPTV players, and it pairs perfectly with Ireland IPTV. It turns a Firestick or Android TV box into something that looks and feels like a premium cable box, with a proper full-screen TV guide, instant channel switching and neat extras like catch-up and recording.

Free vs TiviMate Premium

TiviMate is free to download and use with one playlist. TiviMate Premium is a paid upgrade (purchased through the TiviMate Companion app on a phone) that unlocks extras:

• Multiple playlists
• Recording and scheduled recording
• Favourites management and custom channel groups
• Catch-up for supported channels
• Multi-view to watch several channels on one screen
• Automatic frame rate matching and other advanced settings

The free version is enough to test. Most regular Ireland IPTV viewers upgrade to Premium for favourites and catch-up. The upgrade is paid to the TiviMate developer, not to your IPTV provider.

How to install TiviMate on Firestick

1. Install the Downloader app from the Amazon store.
2. In Settings, My Fire TV, Developer options, turn on Install unknown apps for Downloader. (If Developer options is hidden, go to About and press Select seven times on your device name.)
3. Open Downloader and enter the TiviMate download link or code from your Ireland IPTV welcome email.
4. Install TiviMate, then delete the install file when prompted.

How to add your Ireland IPTV playlist

1. Open TiviMate and choose Add playlist.
2. Select Xtream Codes (recommended). This loads live TV, the TV guide and catch-up automatically.
3. Enter the server address, username and password from your welcome email and press Next.
4. TiviMate shows how many channels and movies it found. Press Next.
5. Name the playlist “Ireland IPTV” and press Done.

Load and fix the TV guide

With Xtream Codes the guide normally appears within a minute or two. If it is empty:

1. Go to Settings, then EPG.
2. Check that your Ireland IPTV EPG source is listed and enabled.
3. Press Update EPG and wait for it to finish.
4. Set EPG update interval to every 12 or 24 hours so it stays current.

If programmes show at the wrong time, check that your device's time zone is set to Dublin and that the EPG time shift in TiviMate is 0.

Organise channels the Irish way

A tidy channel list makes TiviMate a joy to use. Here is a setup many Ireland IPTV users like:

• Hide groups you never watch. Go to Settings, Playlists, your playlist, Manage groups, and untick countries you do not need.
• Move Ireland to the top. In Manage groups, reorder so Ireland, Ireland Sports and UK come first.
• Create a Favourites group. Long-press any channel and choose Add to favourites. Put RTÉ One, Virgin Media One, TG4 and your sports channels there.
• Renumber channels. Premium lets you set channel numbers, so you can put RTÉ One on 1 and RTÉ2 on 2, just like traditional TV.

Best TiviMate settings for Ireland IPTV

• Settings, Playback, Player: leave on the default. If a channel shows a black screen, try switching the decoder to software.
• Settings, Playback, Buffer size: set to Medium or Large on Wi-Fi to reduce buffering.
• Settings, Playback, AFR (auto frame rate): turn on if your TV supports it for smoother sport.
• Settings, General, Start on boot: turn on so TiviMate opens when the TV starts, like a normal TV box.
• Settings, Appearance: choose a layout and font size that is readable from the sofa.

Using catch-up and recording

On channels that support catch-up (included in the Ultimate plan), scroll back in the TV guide and select a past programme to play it. With TiviMate Premium you can also record a programme or schedule a recording from the guide. Recordings need storage, so on a Firestick use a USB drive with an OTG adapter or set a network folder.

Multi-view for big match days

TiviMate Premium's multi-view lets you watch up to four channels on one screen, which is brilliant on a busy sports day. Long-press a channel and choose Multi-view, then add others. Each stream counts as a connection, so make sure your plan allows enough screens. The Ultimate plan allows four at once.

Troubleshooting TiviMate

“Playlist is empty” or login fails

Re-enter the Xtream details carefully, including http:// and the port number, with no spaces. Then press Update playlist.

Channels buffer

Increase the buffer size, restart the device and router, and use Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi. See our buffering fix guide.

Go to Settings, Playlists, select your playlist and press Update playlist.
