Ireland IPTV Movies, Series & Catch-Up Guide

Finding films and series

In most IPTV players, the home screen has three main sections: Live TV, Movies (sometimes called VOD) and Series. Inside Movies and Series, content is organised into categories such as recently added, genre and language.

• Use search to jump straight to a title rather than scrolling.
• Check “Recently added” to see the latest films and episodes.
• Browse by genre when you do not know what you want to watch.
• Add to favourites anything you want to watch later.

Picking up where you left off

Most IPTV players remember where you stopped and offer to resume next time. Many also have a “Continue watching” row. For series, the app usually highlights the next episode automatically. Because this progress is stored on the device, it does not always follow you from the TV to your phone, so it helps to use the same device for a series you are working through.

Subtitles and audio

Many films and series include subtitles and sometimes more than one audio language. During playback, open the player menu (often the up or menu button on your remote) and look for Subtitles or Audio. If a film has no built-in subtitles, some apps can search for them online.

How catch-up works

Catch-up (also called archive or TV replay) lets you go back in time on supported channels. It is included on every plan.

1. Open the TV guide in your IPTV player.
2. Find a channel with a catch-up icon (often a small clock or rewind symbol).
3. Scroll left to a programme from earlier today or the past seven days.
4. Select it and choose Play. The programme plays from the start.

Setting up for the kids

Many IPTV players let you hide adult categories and lock them with a PIN. A few tips for families:

• Turn on parental controls in the app settings and choose a PIN only adults know.
• Lock or hide categories that are not suitable for children.
• Create a Kids favourites group with RTÉjr and children's channels.
• Use apps with profiles, such as iMPlayer, so each family member has their own view.

It is easy to mix these up, so here is the difference:

• Catch-up replays programmes that were shown on live channels in the past few days, exactly as broadcast. Included on every plan.
• The movies and series library is a separate collection of films and full seasons you can start any time. Included on every plan.
• Recording (in apps such as TiviMate Premium) saves a live programme to storage on your device, so you can keep it for longer.
